We have a exciting new lifestyle-friendly opportunity with the dynamic technology practice group at a well-established, Boston-based law firm. They need immediate assistance as some of the senior partners scale back on their billable hours and focus on client development.

The successful associate will get excellent experience and mentoring, increasing responsibility and significant client interaction. This team has perhaps the most interesting, varied, national tech practice of any firm around! Name-brand clients, including major manufacturers, telecom companies, universities, and medical and life sciences research facilities rely heavily on this team for all aspects of development, deployment, and disposition of their technology and intellectual property: outsourcing, licensing, business process services and privacy/data security matters as well as commercial transactions.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years supervised experience working on technology and intellectual property deals, such as software licensing and cloud services agreements; content licensing; software, data and IP development agreements; reseller and distribution agreements; e-commerce agreements; and inbound and outbound business process outsourcing (BPO) agreements. Preference is for candidates with experience conducting IP due diligence in M&A and other corporate and financial transactions. Location: Boston (with some remote days).

  • Junior candidates with M&A and strong contract drafting experience will be considered.
  • Junior counsel or senior associate candidates (J.D. 2010-2014) with a partial book of business also will be considered.
  • Candidates must have excellent academics from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of a U.S. state bar (strong preference for Massachusetts). A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a top technology or corporate practice also is required.

    Salary: Depends on experience and potential portable business. Range starts in the mid-high $100Ks plus bonus potential and excellent benefits and mentoring.
